3. Scope and purpose of this document

This document aims to provide supplemental information for technology providers (including original equipment manufacturers) who are developing technology compatible with dynamic exports. The CSIP, and by extension CSIP-AUS, regularly refer to a utility interconnection handbook to provide additional detail that may be utility-specific. This document acts as the utility interconnection handbook for the purposes of the Dynamic Export Requirements and SA Power Networks Flexible Exports program.

Additionally, this document describes the process by which a communication software client and inverter series can be tested and certified compliant with the Dynamic Exports Requirements. The document will be updated to reflect the new process and requirements once a national certification process becomes available.

The document is designed to be read in conjunction with the CSIP-AUS and the OTR’s Technical Regulator Guidelines – Distributed Energy Resources (“the guidelines”). Figure 1 illustrates the relevant documents and their relationships with numbering for the suggested reading order.
